CITY CLERK’S OFFICE AT PORT WASHINGTON CITY HALL

SPRING PRIMARY TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2023

  • In-Person Early Voting by Absentee Ballot and Voter Registration will be held at the City Clerk’s Office this final week.

    February 13th – February 16th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

    Friday, February 17th is extended from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

  • There is no In Person Early Voting or Voter Registration held on the Monday before the election. After Friday, February 17th residents must go to their Polling Location to cast a ballot.
  • Absentee Ballots may be returned by mail or by the voter to the City Clerk’s office. The City Clerk must deliver all absentee ballots to the polling locations for processing by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, therefore all residents dropping off ballots should do so at the City Clerk’s office by 7:45 p.m. on Election Day.
  • NOTE: There is no mail delivery on Monday, February 20th due to Presidents Day.

Mission Statement

The Election Administration is responsible for the oversight and conduction of legal and timely elections, assuring that each eligible resident is afforded the opportunity to vote.

Programs/Service Lines

  • Oversee Election Administration and support to successfully complete all required elections.
  • Provide Voter Registration to the residents.
  • Provide early In-Person Absentee Voting or Absentee Voting by Mail to residents.
  • Provide Voting for Indefinitely Confined voters in Residential Care Facilities.
  • Certify Nomination papers for Candidates running for local offices.
  • Recruit, train, and schedule Election Inspectors at all polling locations.
  • Maintenance, testing and security of city election equipment.
  • Canvass, Reconciliation and filing of required documents at the conclusion of each election including data entry of voter participation.
